Like working behind the scenes? It takes more than nurses and counselors to keep the Center running from day to day. From mowing the lawn to stuffing envelopes, what our support volunteers do behind the scenes helps to make the Center's services to women possible. Could one of the volunteer roles below be right for you?
- Support Volunteer Coordinator: Screens and interviews prospective support volunteers; coordinates and supervises group projects. Works approximately 1-3 hours weekly, partly from home if desired.
- Boutique Assistant : Sorts and shelves baby items and maternity clothes donated to our Boutique. May also assist clients shopping in the Boutique (please fill out the Client Services Volunteer Application if you're interested in working directly with clients, as that requires additional screening).
- Grounds and Maintenance: Does repairs, minor carpentry, lawn care, or landscaping to keep our facilities functioning well and looking their best.
- Clerical Assistant: Provides clerical support such as data entry, making telephone calls, and stuffing envelopes.
- Speaker: Represents Blue Ridge Women's Center as a speaker to church or community groups upon request.
- Committee Member: Helps with planning and sponsor recruitment for annual fundraising events.
- Event Assistant: Helps with publicity, registration, or other support tasks for fundraising events.
